The complex is located near the beach and has an outdoor swimming pool with children's paddling area, surrounded by terrace and lawn. The Tomas Maestre marina is 4km away and offers a range of leisure and sport activities. shops, supermarket, banks and the marina itself is very beautiful and offers an excellent range of bars and restaurants offering many types of cuisine from French, Greek, Mexican and of course Spanish restaurants have contributed to the areas cosmopolitan reputation .
From the marina there is ferry service operating across the Mar Menor from to Santiago de Ribera with its permanent street market on Wednesdays,The ferry operates approximately a two hourly service and takes 20 minutes. Bicycles are permitted on board for a small extra charge
During the summer, the beaches offer a variety of watersports, sailing, powerboat trips and scubadiving. 20 minutes from La Manga Golf Club
A car is not strictly necessary but recommended to take advantage of everything the region has to offer.

The nearest airports are Murcia Int, Corvera. There are many low cost airlines that go to Murcia including Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2, Monarch, Bmibaby, which travel from most UK and many European cities.
Alicante airport is an extra hour up the coastline and offers many more flight options. If travelling from Alicante you need to hire a car, but it can offer more morning flights if on a short trip can make it very worthwhile. Low cost airlines are great if you stay within their rules; read their small print.
Once in Spain there are three main travel options from Murcia Airport to La Manga:

The local roads are quiet in this area. Because of the layout of this area you have to drive right around the bottom of the Mar Menor Sea and the length of the La Manga Strip, which means the journey is approximately 1 hour. On a daytime transfer, the views are lovely driving right next to the coastline at point in La Manga. It is two dual carriage way/motorways from the airport onto La Manga where it is one road from the top to bottom, so the drive is very simple.
This is often a similar price as a return taxi and is great to see the local area during your stay. Car hire prices are currently approximately £100 for a week in May 2014. Please note they will charge you additional costs for petrol and insurance which can double this price, but still is good value for a week.
Good option to see the area, drive to local shops & marina whilst in the area
The simple way to avoid the stresses and have a drink on the plane! A one-way taxi journey to the apartment is approximately 60 Euros for 1 – 4 people, which can be booked at the same time as reserving the apartment
Good option for no stress and a designated driver which will transport you to your accommodation day or night.
The descriptive name of La Manga ("the sleeve") refers to an interesting geographical layout which has become one of the symbols that best identifies the coast of Murcia as a tourist resort: a chain that stretches along approximately 24 km from Cabo de Palos to the Punta del Mojón, and is the natural limit of the salt water lake known as the Mar Menor.
Originally, what is now known as La Manga del Mar Menor was a bay open to the Mediterranean; at either end, volcanic reefs gradually held back the sand and sediment that was dragged along by the sea currents to form a sandy column of dunes and rock vegetation and long beaches in contact with two seas: the Mediterranean and the Menor. La Manga is a narrow piece of land with a width that varies between 30 m and 500m. It is cut off by natural channels that keep the two seas in contact with each other; the so-called golas allow water from the Mediterranean into the lake. As such, the space was untouched until the 60s, when La Manga was discovered as a tourist resort and underwent a transformation which included the urbanisation of the area and the construction of tourist infrastructures.

The penthouse apartment is amazing, I can honestly say that I thought it was perfect, so well kept, comfortable and everything and more than you’d need for a self catering holiday. The area is relaxing and in my opinion the best part of the strip if you want to chill out and relax.
I will definitely visit again, but next time I will hire a car.
Hayley and Tony who look after the apartment are such lovely people and told us all the best places to eat. They even arranged for their friend to give us lift back to the airport.

The apartment was absolutely perfect and it had everything we needed for evenings that we stayed in to cook. Once we got used to our evening walk to the port/yacht club we looked forward very much to it. We adored the priavte roof top with BBQ and the swimming pool was just perfect for the children. Tony & Hayley the property managers are a god send for anyone needing local information. Thank you again for the use of your lovely apartment
Absolutely spectacular! Very spacaious and amazing ocean views from every room. The kitchen has everything you could ever need and the BBQ came in handy for grilling fresh fish.
